Gaudi-awful

Every so often I am so thoroughly disappointed that I can remember what it was like when as a child I got socks on my birthday. This show is black knee-high socks.

Antonio Gaudi almost single-handedly dragged the architecture of the 19th century kicking and screaming into the 20th. His work was colourful and organic, unmatched to this day in its play with fluid yet ornate forms. He was a master who created an architectural playground for the Spanish people. So why celebrate the 50th anniversary of his death with a poor collection of photographs of details from his buildings? Those who know Gaudi will be bored to tears, and those who are unfamiliar with his work will remain so.thmoas@sympatico.ca
