Nakedness aside, love can be obsessive and scary, and even a bit sad. Morgan Mavis placed posters around town during January with a sassy picture displaying her shock-pink hair, multiple piercings, ample attitude and eerie resemblance to Kelly Osbourne in that Papa Don’t Preach video. Written on the picture were a phone number (1-866-411-PINK) and a romantic call to action: “Can You Love Me?”Well, apparently there are a lot of people in Toronto who can fall for a poster. Mavis has received some 500 phone calls, including one freak who called religiously all night long. The gallery space is papered with her posters, and the messages play on an answering machine that sits on a side table on a small piece of pink shag carpet.
