Inside a Space, Winsom’s very simple paintings depict fish, boats and birds. In a corner, a slide show lights up the walls with images of trees — lush and twisting up through dense underbrush to touch the sky. In another corner stands a leafless tree decorated with small liquor bottles, barely shading an altar below. Beside the altar are four cups of beans. You are to take two beans. Place one on the altar, keep the other and say a prayer for acts of kindness in the universe.
