Toast Tory turfing

The End of the Tory BS Revolution! at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen West), Friday (October 3), 8 pm-2 am. $5 or pwyc. 416-531-4635. Rating: NNNNN

On the subject of squat parties, there’s an art event Friday (October 3) that’s going to be an anybody-but-the-bloody-PCs celebration (presuming an election rejection Thursday) and a rally for the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty.

Like any good anti-Conservative bash, there will be karaoke and a rogues’ gallery of very bad Tories made by such artists as Rae Johnson , Tanya Read , Katharine Mulherin and Oliver Girling . OCAP is an important voice for the impoverished. So if you’re someone who doesn’t think it’s nice to put some people on the streets just so others can save a morsel of money at tax time, you might want to attend this party to have some fun and show you care. Besides, it’s at the Gladstone Hotel, a wonderful, storied place where grit will remain in the corners long after the Drake has been cleaned up.
