The Chicago-based Canadian artist of Kenyan and Indian descent juxtaposes his videos and prints with his selections from the African art collections of the Textile Museum and Kingston’s Agnes Etherington Art Centre.

Paintings by New York-based Wood (colourful naive-ish flattened images inspired by movies and other popular culture) and local veteran Husar (a surreal representation of an airplane’s food service area that’s a teaser for an upcoming solo show) open on Dupont.
Meryl McMaster: Dream Catcher
Meryl McMaster: Confluence, at Doris McCarthy Gallery, November 3 to December 10, artist talk 1-2 pm and reception 5-8:30 pm November 3.
The artist is both behind and in front of the camera in three photographic series that explore her Aboriginal and Euro-Canadian identity and the limitations and possibilities of the self. The Carleton U Art Gallery show is on a Canada-wide tour, and is one stop on a bus tour of suburban galleries leaving from 401 Richmond on November 26.
