there’s something deliciously audacious about showing unframed art at a framing shop. And if the burning buildings, humanoid birds and cityscapes Ian Fraser has crammed onto the walls and windows of AKAU aren’t his sexiest in terms of subject matter (he’s saved the penis action for SPIN’s Pride In Art 2001 — see sidebar, this page), the sheer yearning in his (mostly) small-scale mixed-media drawings and paintings makes your skin crawl, in a good way.
Think Betty Goodwin.
Not that sex can ever be too far from the surface in works with titles like Desire, Sin and Lust. These pieces make you want more, and with nothing priced over $900 (many are $100), you can go there.
