on the other end of the spec-trum, Melissa Laing’s Shifted Rotating Door is a well-executed exercise in frustration. Walking into Mercer Union, you’re confronted by a white wall and a revolving door. Try to revolve, however, and you quickly come to a halt, since the off-centre door only moves a couple of feet before slamming against the wall. Once you figure out how to position the door to slip past it, you find yourself in an empty white gallery space.
All that work and no reward. Welcome to the adult world.
