The Ashkenaz Festival of Jewish art and culture has a strong literary component, most of it unfolding on Sunday (August 31). Nora Gold talks about her website JewishFiction.net, featuring unpublished Jewish works that otherwise might be lost, and Boris Sandler lectures on Yiddish literature over the past century. You’ll also want to check out accordionist/songwriter Geoff Berner, who reads from his first novel, Festival Man ($17.99, Dundurn), about a maverick music manager seeking redemption after he dumps all over the Calgary Folk Festival. All three events happen Sunday afternoon (August 31) at Harbourfront. See listings.
