Scottish superstar Irvine Welsh does double duty on Monday (June 1) at TIFF Bell Lightbox. After a screening of Trainspotting, Danny Boyle’s film based on Welsh’s first novel, the writer takes the stage for an interview by Eleanor Wachtel.
Then’s he signs copies of Trainspotting and his just-released A Decent Ride ($24, Jonathan Cape). The new book brings back his popular character “Juice Terry” Lawson – a very bad boy who’s hard to hate – and his unique talent for blending humour with devastatingly dark material.
