Feminist activist and mystery writer Eve Zaremba launches her memoir The Broad Side ($19.95, Insomniac) on Wednesday (December 2) at the NOW Lounge. As a long-time sister and friend, I’ll be conducting an onstage interview with Zaremba – co-founder of Women’s Place in the 70s and the first to develop a fictional lesbian female detective. Though many will be more familiar with the women’s movement Zaremba chronicles, her Second World War memories of Poland are even more fascinating. Ottie Lockey‘s short film Search For Kaskada, related to Zaremba’s Polish past, screens as part of the evening. See Readings. Tickets available here.
