Iconic literary editor Ellen Seligman died last week, leaving a gaping hole in Canada’s literary landscape. She edited 23 Governor General’s Literary Award winners, six Giller Prize winners and four Man Booker Prize winners. Meticulous, ferociously persistent, passionate and always caring about her writers, she had a greater influence on the quality of Canadian books than almost anyone else in the country. R.I.P.
