A raft of impressive Canadian talent is gathering to save Al Purdy‘s A-frame near Roblin Lake. It’s not just about the structure or even its history it’s the future that matters. If the Al Purdy Show funder Wednesday (February 6) at Koerner Hall is a success, the late poet’s former home will be restored to become a writer’s retreat. In addition to an auction of memorabilia – Purdyana, they’re calling it – the event features readings by Margaret Atwood, Gordon Pinsent, Dennis Lee and others and music by Gord Downie, the Skydiggers and Bidiniband.
