Margaret Atwood, Paul Durcan, Richard Holloway, Audrey Niffenegger and David Wroblewski comprise the heaviest-hitting readings event of the festival. 8 pm, Fleck Dance Theatre.
Sunday (October 25)
It’s a trek, for sure, but when you’re heading out to see Helen Humphreys and Sarah Waters, it’s worth it. 2 pm, at the Mill Run Golf & Country Club (269 Durham Road 8, Uxbridge).
Tuesday (October 27)
Readings by crime writers Michael Connelly, Dani Couture, William Deverell and Denise Mina emphasize IFOA’s commitment to the thriller genre, at one time completely ignored by the festival. 8 pm, Fleck Dance Theatre.
Thursday, October 29
In an event spotlighting literature’s global reach, Tash Aw (Malaysia), Andrea De Carlo (Italy), Jason Guriel (Canada) and Colm Tóibín (Ireland) read from their new work. Keep your eye on Aw – he was sensational at the major literary Luminato event last spring. 8 pm, Fleck Dance Theatre.
Friday, October 30
NOW books editor Susan G. Cole moderates a round table with Anne DeGrace, Elina Hirvonen, Tessa McWatt and Lisa Moore. The topic? One that haunts many writers: how to finish the damn thing. 8 pm, Lakeside Terrace.
