Kevin Chong is obsessed with Neil Young, and he’s not afraid to admit that. In fact, he’s written a whole book about it. Fortunately, Neil Young Nation ($22.95, Greystone) isn’t just a love letter to his idol, but rather retraces the musician’s famous 1966 road trip from Winnipeg to L.A. in an attempt to understand the passion of Young’s admirers. Along the way, Chong talks to people who knew Young’s journalist father, Scott, friends of the artist and, of course, fans, too. Chong does an onstage interview Saturday (March 9) at the Academy of the Impossible. See Readings.
