Eco scientist Tim Flannery follows up The Weather Makers with a history of the planet’s evolution. Written in his trademark accessible prose, Here On Earth: A Natural History Of The Planet ($32.99, HarperCollins) explores how our home was transformed over billions of years from a galactic cloud of gas to its present complex state. Flannery’s theory is that the more we know about the Earth, the more likely we are to take care of it. He signs his book Saturday (April 16) at Grassroots and gives a talk at the Reference Library on Monday (April 18).
