A holiday show unlike any other. Singers Chris Murphy (Sloan), Jackie Richardson, Jessica Mitchell, Tom Wilson (Junkhouse, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings) and David Wall perform with a 10-piece ensemble. Magic and Loss: A Tribute to Lou Reed

Art of Time Ensemble steps out of the concert hall and into Toronto's storied Opera House for a celebration of a rock & roll pioneer. A maverick of 20th century rock music, Reed infused his music with an art-pop edge and laid the groundwork for alternative music for generations to come. Experience the songs of an icon, reimagined in inventive arrangements for a 10-piece ensemble fronted by singers Shakura S’Aida, Tom Wilson, Sarah Slean, and others.

Best of Words and Music 


Scenes from Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing are set by Ravi Jain and presented alongside music by Erich Korngold; Ophelia’s Mad Scene from Hamlet is paired with Richard Strauss’ lieder for soprano. Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt perform excerpts from their smash hit 2 Pianos 4 Hands, Margaret Atwood’s series of poems Thriller Suite is set to original music, and Martha Burns, Gregory Hoskins, Rick Roberts give performances that blur the lines between poetry, music and theatre.

Doghouse Roses: The Words and Music of Steve Earle

A folk artist for contemporary America, Steve Earle's writing and music has captured the spirit - and the struggle - of this great land of contradiction. Singers Andy Maize (of Skydiggers), Susie Ungerlieder (of Oh Susanna), Tom Wilson (Junkhouse, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings), and Gregory Hoskins perform Earle's music, while celebrated author Michael Ondaatje and actor Rick Roberts read his words. This concert highlights Earle's brilliant storytelling and presents his songs in new arrangements that honour and celebrate his music.
