Always a bridesmaid and never the bride, Shamez Amlani’s transplanted Kensington bistro has been the finalist to Le Sélect too many times to count. Now entrenched in the heart of ol’ Queen West, the tall-ceilinged room has finally come into its own and feels more at home than ever. Why, tables are so hot for dinner Friday and Saturday nights, seatings every half-hour from 5:30 pm are limited to two hours. Book after 8 pm, however, and linger by candlelight over chef Brock Kavanagh’s notorious Quack ‘n’ Track – horse tenderloin paired with duck confit – long into the night.
