It’s a landmark year for dance artist Menaka Thakkar. This month, after 40 uninterrupted years as a professional dancer (actually, she’s been dancing since the age of four), Thakkar turns 60. The nimble-as-ever sexagenarian fronts a cast of 89 dancers in this affectionate look at making her art in Canada, using Bharatnatyam, Odissi and other styles of dance as well as music and video.
