Why Don’t You Dance? directed by Michael Downing, part of Canada Dances (see above). Rating: NNN Rating: NNN
Michael Downing’s adaptationof a Raymond Carver story about a young couple who meet a man selling his belongings at a lawn sale nicely captures Carver’s bittersweet world of graceful losers. But the inclusion of this film in the fest — there’s a dance sequence in a climactic moment — seems like a stretch.
