Two American R&B singers are already fighting for the role of Princess Tiana, while Disney has yet to confirm the live-action remake The Princess and the Frog.

On Monday, Dreamville artist Ari Lennox took to Twitter to post an audition to portray the beloved Disney princess.

“Hi @Disney I’m Ari Lennox and I would love an opportunity to audition for Princess and The Frog in person. ❤,” Lennox tweeted.

In the video, the singer covered the song, “Almost There,” originally sung by Anika Noni Rose.

Rose is recognized as Disney’s first Black princess for being the actress and singer who voiced the character of Tiana in 2009.

Lennox’s video has gone viral garnering nearly four million views since being posted, with fans praising her soulful performance.

However, Lennox isn’t the only singer vying for the iconic part. Two days after her video, Bel-Air star and fellow R&B songstress Coco Jones posted a video of her own version of “Almost There,” while she was cooking breakfast. Some would even say both the performance and the eggs were well-seasoned.

The former Disney Channel actress cleverly reflected the dreams of Princess Tiana, since the film is partly about Tiana being a waitress and wanting to open her own restaurant in New Orleans.

Given the musical and acting background of the American singers, they both have a fair shot at securing Princess Tiana’s role.

Currently, people are still waiting to hear Disney give the go-ahead on the project. For now, The Princess and the Frog live-action remake remains a rumored fantasy for fans.
