The queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race are bringing their Halloween show to Toronto.

The 10th annual Night Of The Living Drag tour is due to stop at Meridian Hall on October 16. The zombie-themed show is the first Drag Race live tour featuring stars of the U.S. reality series to come to town since before the pandemic.

Season 7 winner and burlesque artist Violet Chachki is on hosting duties and the cast includes season 10 winner Aquaria, season 12 winner Jaida Essence Hall, season 13’s Gottmik, Rose and Kandy Muse, and fan favourites Alyssa Edwards, Plastique and Kim Chi.

While these Drag Race tours tend to be bare bones production-wise, producer Brandon Voss of Voss Events is promising to up the ante this year, with “massive decor installations and a phenomenal lighting system to make it an immersive experience,” according to a press release.

“Audiences won’t only be watching the action in the cemetery,” he says. “They will feel as if they are in it.”

Tickets are $55-$85 and go on sale on September 2 at 10 am via Ticketmaster. There will also be VIP meet-and-greet tickets available.

Ontario’s vaccination certificate system will be in effect at concert venues by the time the tour rolls into town. The province remains in step 3 of the reopening plan, meaning theatre and live music venue capacity is restricted to 50 per cent.
