The Cooking Fire Theatre Festival always has a great grassroots feel, especially in the way that it celebrates communal eating as well as performance. Set in Dufferin Grove Park (Dufferin south of Bloor) and preceded by a meal cooked in the park’s ovens, this year’s sixth fest of family entertainment features companies from Toronto, Quebec City, Montreal, Strasbourg and Halifax. By donation. June 17 to 21. 416-655-4841, cookingfire.ca.
