The Kids in the Danforth Music Hall

The Kids in the Hall, Canada’s own inside joke, are returning to the city that backdropped the sketches of the beloved troupe for a string of shows at Danforth Music Hall tonight (Thursday April 22), Saturday and Sunday.

To celebrate the boy’s return to town, we put together a selection of the best sketches you can find online.

For a full journey through the surreal story of the kids, check out NOW’s thorough oral history. But for a quick fix, here are five easy laughs from the Canadian comedy greats.

Trapper

Because a canoe full of Quebecois hunters terrorizing an office place is the most Canadian thing to happen until Toonie Tuesday.

Girl drink drunk

Alcoholism may not seem like a funny subject, but imagining if it was only ridiculously elaborate tiki cocktails and blended drinks been definitely is.

Borrowed Art

“Paintings? You mean… my art.”

Daves I know

Always had a soft spot for this one (I know two Daves… But then again, who doesn’t?)

Tammy – Roses

One of those sketches you just have to applaud for making it all the way from paper to money shot spewing fruit production.
