In The Box

Rating: NNNNN

Here’s a potential knockout show. In Sunil Kuruvilla’s Fighting Words, two Welsh sisters take up gloves to duke it out for the affections of their hometown hero, a bantamweight champ battling for the world title in Los Angeles. Canadian Kuruvilla’s only had one play staged locally — Minus 1 at last year’s Fringe — but the Yale drama grad has been produced in the States. Fighting Words features Irene Poole, who was incandescent under the same director, Rosemary Dunsmore, in The Glace Bay Miner’s Museum. (See listings, this page.)
