The Next Stage Theatre Festival

The Toronto Fringe’s winter festival – which had to pivot to streaming offerings – wraps up this weekend, with many hot shows, including Heart Of A Dog, a Comedy Records stand-up showcase and Fatuma Adar’s outstanding solo show with music She’s Not Special.

The Rhubarb Festival

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre’s festival of new works continues this year with a large-scale on-site installation by Andrea Shin Ling, which other artists have been invited to comment upon and perform within.

Digital Now! A Festival For Weary Hearts

Timeshare Performance presents a free festival of new short works exploring the state of relationships during the pandemic. Artists include Daniel Krolik, Rob Kempson, Janelle Hanna, Laura Anne Harris, Liz Der and Rachel Blair.

Best Damn Stand-up Comedy Show

Headliners Roy Daye, Quinn C. Martin and Kenny Robinson perform at this stacked show, along with Bougie B. Bougé, Nicole Benjamin and host Kevin Christopher.

Valentine’s Soundtrack

Guest conductor Lucas Waldin leads the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a concert of romantic songs from movies and musicals like Titanic, The Bodyguard, West Side Story and La La Land. The audience capacity is limited to 500 patrons.

Best Of: A Stand-Up Comedy Showcase

The Underground Comedy Railroad Tour

Now in its 10th year, the country’s first all-Black-Canadian comedy tour touches down at Comedy Bar with a great lineup that includes Keesha Brownie, Jean Paul, Brandon Ash-Mohammed, Tamara Shevon and host Daniel Woodrow.

Valentine’s Day Concert for kids 10 and under

The Rainbow Songs Foundation presents a virtual benefit concert featuring Joanna Kellam and others. The concert raises funds for the North York Women’s Shelter.

Wanderlust, Around the World in 80 Photographs

Because international travel has been curtailed during the pandemic, this exhibit hopes to satisfy that need to see other people and places. Artists include Rita Leistner and Don McKellar (from Toronto) as well as Dick Arentz, Yamamoto Masao, André Kertész and Sunil Gupta.
