Apparently, Coolio is still big in Germany, so it’s not hard to understand how RZA, solo, could flood concert theatres during the dates he did there last year. Rocking the mic with a 40-ounce bottle of clear hard liquor in tow (‘I’m gonna get fucked up with y’all niggaz tonight!’), Robert Diggs put on shows that mark the first time any Wu member has been backed by a live band. To Prince Rakeem’s credit, it sounds great. You can’t really fault the Abbot for attempting so many Wu songs (Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing To F’ Wit, Reunited, Gravel Pit, It’s Yourz) he’s never really had any solo hits. Clearly, he loves and respects his audience, as he asserts in his pricelessly worded interviews between bangers. To employ some of RZA’s own vocabulary, this DVD is only made more ‘pleasurestable’ by the rare and unusual Euro-rapper collaboration vids in the extras.
