SUMMARY:Beethoven Eroica & Bologne: The Winds of Change
DESCRIPTION:Tafelmusik’s 2025/26 season finale at Koerner Hall salutes this uplifting spirit with music by Ludwig van Beethoven and Joseph Bologne\, composers who embraced change and challenged the status quo. \nA trailblazer in his own right\, the renowned Japanese-American violinist Shunske Sato makes his Tafelmusik debut directing these performances. Concertmaster of Concerto Köln and former Artistic Leader of the Netherlands Bach Society\, Sato is known for performances that push the envelope and “dig deeper into his instrument” (Gramophone). \nLeading the orchestra from the violin\, Sato directs Beethoven’s Symphony no. 3\, “Eroica\,” a work that profoundly changed the symphonic form while staying true to the composer’s ethos. Don’t miss your chance to experience Tafelmusik’s 2025/26 season finale at Koerner Hall May 29-31\, 2026. Buy tickets at tafelmusik.org

SUMMARY:Tiger Bride
DESCRIPTION:A fairy tale with teeth. \nA rock-fueled\, punk-infused reimagining of Angela Carter’s The Tiger’s Bride\, this electrifying song cycle turns Beauty and the Beast inside out. Here\, the Beast doesn’t become a man—instead\, the Girl becomes something wilder. Blurring the lines between girl and woman\, human and animal\, power and submission\, Tiger Bride is a raw\, gothic horror pulsing with sex\, fury\, and transformation. Part rock concert\, part cabaret\, part theatre\, this is no tidy fairy tale—it’s an untamed\, unapologetic roar.
