21C Music Festival

The Royal Conservatory’s 21C MUSIC FESTIVAL presents the Ontario premiere of Illusions, 8 pm Friday, May 22. 

This epic, multimedia work was written for the Gryphon Trio, Ensemble contemporain de Montréal, and singer Vincent Ranallo. and is comprised of three new pieces by Canadian composers Nicole Lizée, Gabriel Dharmoo, and Simon Martin. The music will be accompanied by visuals created by Kara Blake and Corinne Merrell, and projections designed by Jacques Collin. The first half of the concert also features the Gryphon Trio in Basquiat, Shanty, and Russian March by Don Byron and an RCM commission by guitarist Michael Occhipinti for Byron, the Gryphon Trio, and himself.
