Bell are a duo from London, UK, but little else is known about them. This is their second album, and it’s very reminiscent of early Warp Records, with a bit of Detroit techno and some obvious love of LFO’s brilliant early 90s releases. In the current musical climate, most would describe this as electro, but it’s still unclear whether Bell are hipsters or techno freaks. Whether the robot voice samples are ironic or sincere, they’re the weak point here otherwise, it’s a pretty satisfying album of raw, edgy techno funk.
