Blonde Ambition (Sony, 2007) D: Scott Marshall, w/ Jessica Simpson, Luke Wilson. Rating: NN DVD package: NN
Jessica Simpson is a small-town girl who goes to the big city and finds love (Luke Wilson) and a career while foiling the machinations of a pair of corporate weasels (Penelope Ann Miller and Andy Dick) who are trying to destroy her boss (Larry Miller) Larry Miller plays his rabid-dog exec at full, hilarious throttle, by far the best thing in the movie. Miller and Dick play well together, and there’s an entertaining sequence involving Norwegian ministers. Overall, the movie is funny for maybe 12 minutes.
Few of those minutes have much to do with Simpson. Too often, nothing registers in her eyes, which pretty much kills the goofy-perky charm.
