Collaborative work where suppressed histories of transatlantic slavery in Canada are unearthed to be reconsidered in a new light. The complete WANTED, ten large-scale photographs that respond to runaway advertisements posted by Canadian slave owners in late 18th century Canadian newspapers will occupy the gallery walls. These powerful images will accompany the video installation, Family Matters, a work that also traverses time, inspired by an enslaved mother and son who were offered for sale in an 1806 Upper Canada Gazette advertisement.
