You swap your books for tickets you can use to trade for books.Even though Glad Day’s focus is 2SLGBTQ books\, this Book Swap is for everyone and (almost) every kind of book! \nEvery book ‘costs’ one ticket. \nWhy RSVP or Prepay for TicketsRSVP for FREE in Eventbrite and get entered into a draw to win 10 tickets!This helps us in our event planning. \nPrepay for 3 tickets and skip any linesWant to prepay for tickets and skip the line? Get 3 tickets for $10 in advance and we absorb the Eventbrite & credit card fees for you 🙂Tickets will be held under your name.You ALSO get entered in a draw to win 10 more tickets! \nTiming:12:30pm -Trading Books for Tickets starts1pm – Ticket Mega Swap in the Atrium starts5pm – Last chance to trade in your books for tickets6pm – Everything ends \nTWO WAYS TO SWAP!There are two ways to swap:Ticket Mega Swap(this is for 100s of books in the big Atrium space)Chaos Lounge Swap(trade with actual people in the lounge) \nMEGA TICKET SWAP : How it works \nYou get tickets and you swap your ticket for a book from the big book zone that will have over 400 books in it! The books will ‘cost’ just one ticket. There will be tables spread out in the large Atrium and books will be grouped roughly into areas like “Fiction”\, “Memoir”\, “Children’s” “French”\, “Health”. \nHow to get tickets: \nYou can BUY TICKETSYou can buy 1 ticket for $5 or 3 tickets for $10 \nor \nYou can SWAP BOOKS FOR TICKETS3 books gets you 1 ticket5 books gets you 2 tickets10 books gets you 5 ticketsOver 10 books get you 1 ticket for every 2 books \n(see below for what books will not be accepted and which might get you extra tickets) \nNote: We expect there may be a 5-10 minute line to exchange your books for tickets\, so come early and avoid the line. \nSome limits on what books can be swapped: \nYou can swap almost any kind of book that is in decent condition. It can be in rough shape but we won’t accept anything with mold\, water damage or yucky to touch. \nAlso\, the following books will not be accepted for tickets: \nDictionaries or textbooksReference books that are over 5 years oldOutdated non-fiction like travel guides\, health advice and self-help that are over 5 years oldMagazines (unless they are xxx magazines – we love those!) \nAnd these books will get you more tickets than normal (like 1 to 3 tickets per book)Queer books by BIPOC authorsChildren’s books with 2SLGBTQ contentTrans books that are less than 10 years oldPhotography booksErotica \nAccessibility \nThe entrance\, space and washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
