Some artists are just born stars, and this especially rings true for Montreal singer Charlotte Cardin.

The 29-year-old performer is somewhat of a household name among Canadians and is arguably the hottest artist in the country right now, with a new album full of heat to match.

Cardin has been dubbed one of the biggest pop artists in her city and province, and that’s no easy feat when you share the same stomping grounds as the queen of power ballads, Celine Dion.

The artist’s most recent body of work is her sophomore album 99 Nights that dropped last summer.

The most popular track on the album is easily Confetti, with over 30 million streams on Spotify.

She also recently wrapped her European and North American tour in February, with two stops in Toronto.

The 6ix was on its feet for the artist who showed off her incredible vocal abilities and her impressive catalog of bangers and bops.

My favourite track of the night was her performance of “Jim Carrey,” an upbeat and thought provoking tune that I’ve had on replay since first hearing it on the album.

Fun fact, the song was actually written about the famous actor and in an interview, Cardin revealed that Carrey called her and said he loved the song and the message behind it, which was about setting yourself free and saying goodbye to your ego, once and for all.

Her music tours have been such a hit that even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got in the mix at her concert in Ottawa over the summer, and judging by his subtle head nods he’s also a fan.

Cardin also spoiled her O.G fans with over seven shows across Quebec. She’s also really in tune with her French speaking audience and now lives in the French capital of the world, Paris.

“The fact that I don’t live in Montreal anymore doesn’t mean that it’s not still a huge part of my sound now. There’s a very inspiring vibe to the city. I love Montreal and I always will,” she told Cult MTL.

Despite being on the other side of the world, Cardin is continuing to lay roots in Canada at every turn.
