Culture Stage

Come to the cabaret

Be sure to pop by the Fringe Club (581 Bloor West) at least one night during the festival. There’s programming going on at 10 pm each night – and you can’t beat the price (free).

Some highlights include an audience-participation game of Truth Or Dare with comic and Wipeout Canada host Ennis Esmer (Friday, July 8) This Is Your Life (Sunday, July 10), in which a very surprised member of the audience (with snickering friends) will see his or her life story played out onstage Songs In The Key Of Wrong (July 14), a selection of tunes from musicals that “should never be,” written and performed by the hot musical theatre troupe Theatre 20 and Critics Night (July 16) turns the tables and features NOW’s Glenn Sumi and the Globe and Mail’s J. Kelly Nestruck reading excerpts from select Fringe plays, followed by a team of improvisors acting out the rest of the scenes. (Feel free to give us bad reviews – we can take it.)
