by Ayad Akhtar (Mirvish). A Pakistani-American lawyer and his white American wife host a dinner party where despite everyone’s liberal and progressive views everyone is drawn into a conversation that reveals their tribal roots. Opens Apr 3 and runs to Apr 17, extended to Apr 24, Tue-Sat 8 pm, mat Sat-Sun 2 pm until Apr 17, plus added dates: Apr 22-23 at 8 pm, and Apr 23-24 at 2 pm. $39-$89.

After he provides aid to a local imam, a Pakistani-American lawyer must deal with the fallout to his life and career. Akhtars controversial, Pulitzer Prize-winning play about race, class and sex gets an explosive production thatll get you arguing about its themes afterwards. The performances are great, particularly Raoul Bhaneja as the cocky lawyer, and Michael Rubenfeld as a Jewish art dealer who pushes his buttons. You might hate what these characters say and do, but this is theatre doing what it should: provoke, infuriate and make you think about the confusing world we live in.
