Hatebreed

Hatebreed The Rise Of Brutality (Universal) Rating: NNN

Rating: NNN

Connecticut’s Hatebreed play metallic hardcore on protein powder and steroids – and on their fifth album it’s obvious their balls aren’t withered from excessive use. Every song is chuggingly powerful, with vox that are ridiculously macho but tolerable because they never have that emotive, nu-metal screamy-whine sound. Plus, it’s always entertaining when positive lyrics are voiced in such an in-your-face way. There’s not much variety here, but it’s cheaper than an Anthony Robbins book on tape and almost twice as affirming.
