IRON MAIDEN

Rating: NNNN

Anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of seeing Iron Maiden can attest that they’re tireless performers. With the release of the classic live video Live After Death on DVD over 20 years after the original, hardcore fans can now get massive metal boners for the cleaned-up picture quality and sound remixed in 5.1. Filmed during what many consider the most exciting period in the band’s history while touring their Powerslave record, the live show is beautifully bloated arena-sized showmanship at its finest, with the band, musically as tight as their spandex pants, rocking through basically every Maiden song you’d care to hear.

While the 90-minute show is the main seller, there’s an impressive amount of bonus material, including the strangely moving Behind The Iron Curtain, a 1985 doc about the band’s first trip into Poland and Czechoslovakia before other Western bands had ever attempted such a thing, making this a must-have for fans.
