Kevin Federline

Rating: N

Opening with a barrage of gossipy news clips describing gaudy details of his personal life and marriage to Britney Spears, Kevin Federline makes it clear from the get-go that he’s gonna milk his time in the spotlight. And what better way to do that then put out a hiphop album designed to set the record straight for all of us haters out there who: a) think his marriage is on the rocks, or b) can only assume that he’s a profoundly mediocre talent. Admirable in theory, but his flow is generic and instantly forgettable and his lyrics are trite, inconsequential and full of self-importance. Once the album is absorbed, however, the question is: who the fuck cares what this dude has to say?! Songs like The World Is Mine and America’s Most Hated attempt to paint the guy as some kind of celebrity martyr, decrying all those nasty misconceptions the “media” has, while Crazy, his duet with Britney Spears, is flaccid and tuneless.
