Coal Mine Theatre presents a play by David Harrower. This drama deals with a relationship triangle in a rural setting and a woman’s internal quest to find out what she wants from life. Previews from Sep 22, opens Sep 25 and runs to Oct 13, Tue-Sat 7:30 pm, Sun 2 pm. $47.50-$55.50, preview/rush $25.
Harrowers 1995 play about three people living in an unspecified, pre-industrial rural community gets a haunting production. Under director Leora Morris, the play can be read as everything from a Garden of Eden allegory to a feminist fable, and theres even a noir feel to the proceedings that adds extra excitement. The cast is excellent, especially Diana Bentley as a young wife whose eyes are gradually opened to the world of possibilities around her.
