Having exhausted his own formidable supply of rock and soul clichés, Lenny Kravitz is forced to dig deep here. Lenny features the usual array of tepid power ballads, including one called Let’s Get High, and rockers that seem ripped clean out of his own back catalogue, but things get really amusing when Kravitz decides to step boldly out of the 60s. Believe In Me features Kravitz’s own take on jerky 1996 Timbaland-style hiphop programming. Mercifully, we’ve been spared Kravitz rapping.
