Johnsons ambitious musical is a complex, moving examination of grief, guilt and forgiveness, following Alice (fresh discovery Ellen Denny), whos mourning the loss of her self-help guru dad (Dan Chameroy). At times the interweaving of musical motifs and snatches of story is overwhelming. But under director Robert McQueen, theres lots of fine detail in the character interactions especially between Alice and her sister (Rielle Braid) and mother (Tracy Michailidis) and the ways memory can play tricks on us.
