While the latest disc from Mobb Deep isn’t as good as their first three albums, they remain one of the best duos in hiphop. Havoc’s production stays strong while his verbal skills remain at the fore, and Prodigy returns to his earlier rhyme style after a short period of sluggish verses. They continue their commercial turn, with Lil’ Jon and Nate Dogg appearances among the usual New York names like Jadakiss and Noyd, who drop quality verses as well. They’re not at their grimiest, but it’s close.
