Toronto, you’re in for another awesome lineup of events to make sure your weekend is full of entertainment! This weekend is packed with events that will peak everyone’s interest from an art festival, a workout class and even a hypnosis show. Here’s what you can check out:

Friday, April 12:

Artist Project

Explore original artwork by more than 250 independent artists across Canada at Artist Project. This event is a huge art festival happening at Better Living Centre. Here, visitors can peruse, meet and buy art directly from the artists, while also supporting an array of Canadian artists. Tickets range from $18 to $40 and the event is from noon to 8 p.m.

TIFF Next Wave Film Festival 2024

The TIFF Next Wave Film Festival is back until Apr. 14 and is offering a new range of movies to enjoy. The best part? It’s free for anyone under the age of 25. Not only are there movies, but there’s also a Battle of the Scores where four bands compete for one big prize, a Young Creators Showcase, and opportunities to connect with film industry professionals, among other events.

Asake: Live in Toronto

Nigerian singer and songwriter Asake is hitting the stage at Scotiabank Arena for his 2024 tour. The singer is known for his smash hits “Lonely at the Top”, “Bandana” and more. Tickets are still available and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Saturday, April 13:

Golf Fest

The first annual Golf Fest is kicking off at Polson Pier from noon to 7 p.m. Golf enthusiasts can partake in golf challenges and watch the Masters play on the big screen. There will also be apparel, brands, food and drinks available for purchase. Tickets start at $25.33.

Jackie Mason The Musical Live in Toronto

Jackie Mason The Musical is a romantic, light-hearted play featuring the adventures of comedy legend Jackie Mason and takes place in Miami Beach, 1977. The play includes 16 original songs such as “Ode to The Early Bird Special,” “I Never Met This Yenta” and “The Finger.” Show times are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m, at Prosserman JCC, 4588 Bathurst St. Tickets cost $50-$70.

Earth Month Activities at Scarborough Museum

Bring your family and friends to the Scarborough Museum for some Earth month activities. The museum is offering some family-friendly demonstrations and nature-based activities such as planting and scavenger hunts. There will also be workshops, talks and programs that focus on promoting sustainability and keeping the earth clean. The event will take place from 11 a.m to 4 p.m.

Sunday, April 14:

HYROX and 10XTO Workout Class

Get your body moving with a workout class organized by HYROX and 10XTO. The two have come together to bring an exhilarating workout experience, led by James Muscart from HYROX and 10XTO’s fitness trainer team. Attendees can expect activities such as devil’s press, rowing, assault bikes and more. It’s happening from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 107 Princes’ Boulevard. Tickets are $53.70 each and remember to bring running shoes, a water bottle and a towel.

HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis

Tune into a hypnosis and improv show, and possibly be hypnotized yourself at the CAA Theatre. Led by comedian Colin Mochrie and hypnotist Asad Mecci, HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis will give audiences a show to remember through quirky comedy and unforgettable hypnosis. The show is from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets range from $45 to $69.

Stand Up Against Street Harassment

L’Oréal Paris is taking over Stackt Market for their first-ever free pop-up called Stand Up Against Street Harassment. The makeup company is empowering individuals when it comes to the fight against street harassment. The pop-up will provide attendees with training by learning how to safely intervene with 5D methodology, a tool that has already helped millions of women. The event starts at noon and ends at 8 p.m.
