Cue the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun”!
More than 300 people came together at Niagara Falls on Monday to break the Guinness World Record title for the “largest gathering of people dressed as the sun.”
On the same day as the solar eclipse, about 309 people showed up to the falls in red ponchos and bright yellow suns attached to their chests. They all gathered on a boat to celebrate the big milestone, as the official adjudicator from Guinness, Mike Marcotte, bestowed them as the new record-holder.
The city says the previous record was held by China Life Insurance Company Limited, which achieved the record in 2020 with 287 participants.
