Several fans of former One Direction member Niall Horan had a “Meltdown” during the Irish star’s surprise concert in Toronto.

The free show was held at Sugar Beach Wednesday evening.

While some fans only found out about the performance the day of, others had already prepared for the show by lining up 10 hours earlier.

Nevertheless, at the end of the concert most fans collectively agreed that it was a miserable experience and could have been better organized.

According to multiple TikToks posted by fans who attended the show, Horan arrived on stage 30 minutes late and only sang three to four songs before he was forced to cancel the remainder of the show due to safety reasons.

Fans say due to the huge crowd that was growing by the second, many people were getting crushed prior to show time and during the performance.

@izzyandersonz i feel so bad for niall i cant imagine how overwhelmed he felt that ppl were being crushed just to see him. there were WAYYYY too many ppl there especially since it was at the smallest point of sugar beach. the radio station that hosted this did not plan well enough, the security even said they were only expecting a couple hundred ppl…😟 also its the fact that there were only 2 security guards ??? that is so un safe no wonder so many ppl were being crushed they literally did not care. such a nightmare lol #sugarbeach #niallhoran #toronto #meltdown #niallhorantoronto ♬ Meltdown – Niall Horan

Radio station, Energy 95.3, and Universal Music Canada were the organizers of the event and it provided Now Toronto with a response regarding the negative experiences Thursday.

“We thank all who patiently waited for and attended the free live performance with Niall Horan at Sugar Beach yesterday. We’re thrilled to have hosted Niall and his incredible fans who showed up in abundance, and we regret that anyone had anything but a positive experience,” the statement read.

“In planning and executing events like this one, safety is our foremost consideration. For this event, we followed strict event and safety protocols, taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of all who attended,” it continued.

During Horan’s brief performance, he sang his newest single “Meltdown,” as well as “This Town” and “Heaven”.

Some fans even argue that his performance should not be considered a “concert” because of the minimal amount of songs he sang.

On the bright side, Horan mentioned he is excited to come back to the city in the “not so distant future.”

Horan’s new album, The Show, is expected to drop on June 9.
