The third full-length from Haligonians North of America, Brothers Sisters came dangerously close to obscurity when it went out of print a year ago. Lucky for us it’s been re-pressed. Reminiscent of the angular aggression of Fugazi and early Trail of Dead, it builds on the whole apocalyptic, jerky post-hardcore thing with patchwork song structures and a soft/loud dynamic that has songs almost settle into complacency before roaring back to life. Vocals are divided between members (again, similar to Trail of Dead), which creates a sense of urgency. Hopefully, future releases will stay put, cuz if this is any indication of the band’s abilities, whatever happens next is definitely worth a listen.
