Just in time for Neil Young’s headlining gig at the WayHome Festival this weekend, the Royal Cinema is presenting a retrospective of the Canadian music icon’s movies.
Named after Young’s filmmaking pseudonym, The Bernard Shakey Film Retrospective: Neil Young On Screen takes place Thursday to Sunday (July 23 to 26) and is presented by distributor Films We Like.
The retrospective, which recently played at New York City’s IFC Center, spans four decades and includes Young-directed films Human Highway (1980), Journey Through The Past (1974), Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Muddy Track (1987), Greendale (2003) and A Day At The Gallery (2012).
Hal Ashby’s Solo Trans (1984) and Jonathan Demme’s Trunk Show (2009) cap the series.
