Spectrum of Connection

Little Pear Garden Dance Company presents the world premiere of Spectrum of Connection.

Join us at Betty Oliphant Theatre for the world premiere of our full-length production of Spectrum of Connection, choreographed by Little Pear Garden’s Artistic Director Emily Cheung. The piece is inspired by Chinese calligraphy, a form of communication from thousands of years ago, but is also seen as a form of art. Spectrum of Connection touches on the concept of globalization, the way people travel and migrate from one place to another. From losing contact in the past and reuniting or forming new connections in the future; taking a look into different forms of communication stemming from our history to our present time. This piece talks about our goals, dreams, and hopes to ease our communication.
Spectrum of Connection will take you on a journey on how we view communication and interact with one another. The new work exposes our unique desires for physical human connections while living in a world that is dominated by technology and the internet. The various aspects of public controls and social expectations are also expressed throughout Spectrum of Connection. To faithfully discover one’s true self in real life, one must form many different connections through one’s journey in life.
For three nights only, October 19th- 21st 2023,  experience Spectrum of Connection, featuring originally composed music by Tony K. T. Leung.

VIP Ticket:  VIP ticket includes a reception (wine/juice & snacks) and a “meet and greet” with Spectrum of Connection artists after the performance.
