A popular charity concert is happening in Toronto headlined by big names such as Taye Diggs, Gary Beals and Karl Wolf in support of providing educational opportunities to racialized youth in the city.

The event will be led by Michael “Pinball” Clemons and his wife Diane Lee Clemons who are kicking off their 7th annual ‘Christmas with the Clemons’ event.

The night will be filled with incredible live performances and actor Taye Diggs hosting.

Performances to watch out for are Diane Lee Clemons, Gary Beals, Glenn Lewis, Karl Wolf, Pastor Richard Brown, Patricia Shirley, Sean Jones, Simone Denny, Sonia Collymore and St. Michael’s Choir School.

Through the Clemons family’s organization called the Pinball Clemons Foundation, the proceeds from the event will support marginalized and racialized youth in our community through the gift of education.

Their mission is to provide educational resources through mentorship, education and employment opportunities for these youth to enter the workforce in careers that they desire.

They’ve given 800 scholarships and bursaries to date, supported nearly 110,000 children in marginalized communities, across five provinces throughout the country. This year the Pinball Clemons Foundation is expected to reach their $20 million goal.

Each of the scholarships from the Pinball Clemons Foundation are named after past and present trailblazers in Canada’s Black community. They include the likes of Lincoln Alexander, Jean Augustine, Brandon Gonez, and Justice Donald McLeod.

The event will be at the Roy Thompson Hall on Wednesday, December 6.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
