Toronto punk band the Diodes are bringing their multimedia tour to the Phoenix on September 11, an evening of music, film, photography and craft beer. Yes, the band is launching its own signature beer named after one of their signature songs, Time Damage IPA. The beer is produced collaboratively with Bowmanville’s Manantler Craft Brewing Co.
Meanwhile, the Toronto stop on their September tour will feature a film screening of the 1977 doc Crash N’ Burn, about the city’s first punk club (of the same name), introduced by Crash N’ Burn manager Ralph Alfonso, and a special set by Teenage Head guitarist Gordie Lewis and his band featuring Dave Rave.
* Update: Time Damage IPA will no longer be available at the Phoenix show due to “beer agreements already in place,” according to Alfonso. But you can get it at the This Ain’t Hollywood show in Hamilton on Sunday (September 13).
